About

Hello! I’m Razvan, a 40-year-old writer with a passion for dark tales, investigative journalism, and blending elements of horror, sci-fi, and the supernatural.

What inspires me? My passion for the strange and unsettling has guided my creative path since childhood. I have a particular interest in cosmic horror—the kind that makes you feel frighteningly small in a vast universe—and the sweeping, intricate world-building of dark fantasy.

My approach to storytelling is profoundly shaped by masters like Stephen King (The Shining), Shirley Jackson (The Haunting of Hill House), and H.P. Lovecraft (The Call of Cthulhu). I also find a lot of inspiration in the atmospheric dread of Peter Straub’s work (Ghost Story) and the dark, inventive worlds of Joe Hill (Heart-Shaped Box) and Tamsyn Muir (Gideon the Ninth).

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. I also completed a year-long online course in Mythology and Folklore. This training showed me how ancient myths, shadowy legends, and cultural traditions are the perfect fuel for the complex stories I love to write.

Journalism is also a crucial part of my background. Starting in 2012 at Club Enigma, I published over 400 articles about hauntings, ghosts, paranormal, ancient mysteries, UFOs, and unsolved crimes. In 2015, I joined Misterio as Senior Content Manager. Between 2017 and 2025, I worked for Ancient Theory and Haunting Realm.

I’m proud to say that my published work, both fiction and non-fiction, has collectively reached over 1 million readers worldwide.

Beyond the keyboard, my two core passions are beekeeping and exploring the natural world. What started as a small beekeeping effort in 2021 has grown into managing six busy beehives.

What am I focused on now? Several projects, in fact: The Horror Collection, Hells Lore, Haunted Wiki, A to Z Monsters, and DemonWiki.
