Description
Beleth represents forced emotion and strict infernal rules. In religious stories, he stands for fallen angels who use their powers to control human will. Beleth’s main ability is to replace natural attraction with supernatural influence, creating affection where there was none before.
Beleth is known for being proud and quick to anger. He expects complete respect and requires certain rituals from anyone who deals with him. His story warns about the risks of trying to control others’ feelings through forbidden methods, showing how desire can become dangerous when it is not guided by free will.
Appearance
Beleth usually appears as a king with a frightening face, riding a pale or faded-looking horse. When he arrives, musicians play trumpets and other instruments, making a loud and unsettling noise. His presence is so intense that it often makes the person who summoned him shake with fear.
Beleth does not look like a monster or animal. Instead, he keeps a human, royal appearance that shows both power and threat. His horse is often described as sickly or pale, which makes his arrival even more disturbing.
History
Origins
Beleth was once part of the Order of Powers in Heaven before the great split. After the angels rebelled and fell, he was sent down to the earthly and underground worlds.
Legend has it that King Solomon managed to trap Beleth, along with many other spirits, in a brass vessel. After losing his place in Heaven, Beleth became an infernal king and took charge of eighty-five legions of spirits who fell with him.

The Binding by Solomon
Stories about Solomon say Beleth was one of the hardest spirits to control. When Solomon first called him for help with building the Temple or for knowledge, Beleth arrived in much so rage and noise that even Solomon had to be very careful.
Solomon wrote down the special protections needed to deal with Beleth. Unlike other spirits who could be controlled with simple orders, Beleth needed a silver ring and a hazel wand. Using these, Solomon trapped him in the brass bottle, where he stayed until the Babylonians later opened it, thinking it was full of gold.
The Return to the North
After the brass vessel was broken and the spirits escaped, Beleth went back to his place in the North. Later grimoires from the Renaissance describe his return to the infernal ranks. He was no longer just a prisoner but became a ruling king in his own right.
These stories highlight his place in the “Lesser Key,” where he is again listed as the thirteenth spirit. During this time, many occultists tried to use his power to affect love and political marriages. Still, some were driven mad by his frightening arrival and the loud music of his ghostly musicians.

Powers
Beleth works by influencing the human mind to create strong feelings of love and passion.
The love Beleth creates is not natural or slow to grow. Instead, it happens suddenly and feels overwhelming, lasting until the person who asked for the spell is satisfied. He uses his eighty-five legions as invisible helpers to influence the target’s thoughts and desires.
When summoned, Beleth also tries to intimidate. He creates a loud mix of trumpets and other instruments to break the conjurer’s confidence. If the conjurer shows fear, Beleth loses respect and may refuse to help or even become hostile.
If the summoning works, the target of the spell completely gives in emotionally, and their feelings are tied to the summoner by a supernatural force.
